For TBT we delved into that haute cuisine of the 50’s: pigs in a blanket. While we thought it might be hard to come by ancient recipes it seems the Americans are still tucking into their beloved piggies. For probably the most classic one we could unearth, you’ll find Martha Stewart’s recipe here. However, those crazy kids over at Buzzfeed have put together 19 audacious ways to make pigs in a blanket, seeing tradition thrown aside for versions that are spicier, healthier and, of course, more decadent.
Our personal favourite is very simple: use a roll of refrigerated biscuit dough, such as Pillsbury, wrap each around a pre-cooked sausage or hotdog of choice and follow the directions for baking the biscuits. As they say in America…Enjoy!
